Bell 2Wire modems forgotten my System Password

BT v5.x firmware
For brand new hubs, no System Password is set up by default on hubs with BT v5.x firmware.

If a system password has been enabled and you do not know what it is, or you have simply forgotten it, the only option is to perform a factory reset.   If you reset the hub, ALL configuration settings will be deleted and you will need to configure the hub again.

Refer to instructions at the bottom of this page for how to factory reset the hub.

BT v6.x firmware

For brand new hubs, the default System Password corresponds to the serial number which can normally be found on the label attached to the hub.

Note that if the used hub was upgraded from previous v5.x firmware, the System Password corresponds to whatever was previously configured with the previous v5.x firmware.

If a system password has been enabled and you do not know what it is, or you have simply forgotten it, there are two options.

You can either perform a factory reset.   If you reset the hub, ALL configuration settings will be deleted and you will need to configure the hub again.  Refer to instructions at the bottom of this page for how to factory reset the hub.

Alternatively, if you wish to keep all settings but simply wish to change the System Password, you will need the default WEP wifi security key which can normally be found on the label attached to the hub.
  • Then go to Settings > System Info > Password.

  • Click on “I’ve forgotten the password” and then “I’ve still forgotten the password”, use the default WEP code as instructed to reset the password to one of your choice.
